Aerospace

A turnkey, four-year 9–12 aerospace pathway — built to FDOE standards, stacked with industry certifications, and ready to launch in one school year.

Giving Students a Flight Path, Not Just a Flight Simulator

Most districts can name the aerospace industry as a priority. Few have the internal bandwidth to build four years of aligned, credit-bearing, certification-stacked coursework from scratch.
ArcPoint's Aerospace Engineering pathway is a complete, implementation-ready course sequence that takes students from their first day in a 9th-grade aerospace classroom to a senior capstone defended in front of an industry panel. Every course is mapped to Florida Department of Education standards, built around project-based learning, and paired with stackable, real-world credentials.

The Four-Year Pathway at a Glance

Each course is a full-year, credit-bearing class that builds directly on the one before it — so students graduate with a coherent body of skills and evidence, not a scattered transcript of electives.

Year 1

FDOE Code

8600580

Aerospace Technologies I

 Foundations of Flight

Flight fundamentals, aerodynamics, propulsion & materials, UAS operations, career portfolio

Students open the year in the lab, not the textbook — mapping safety zones, examining why early aircraft failed, and building scale models to test the answers themselves. From there, the course moves through atmospheric physics and aerodynamics, propulsion and materials science, and unmanned aircraft systems, closing with a career-readiness unit where students build a professional portfolio and sit for mock industry interviews. Students leave Year 1 having earned three foundational, stackable industry certifications.

Year 2

FDOE Code

8600680

Aerospace Technologies II

Navigation & the Remote Pilot

Navigation, aviation weather, FAA Part 107 remote pilot certification

The signature outcome of Year 2 is the FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate — a real commercial credential, not a classroom exercise. Students learn airspace classification, aviation weather analysis, and risk management by working through the same material a professional remote pilot studies, with local industry partners pressure-testing their mission plans.

Year 3

FDOE Code

8601780

Aerospace Technologies III

Materials, Manufacturing & Propulsion

Advanced manufacturing, materials science, composite fabrication, propulsion analysis

Year 3 shifts from "how it flies" to "how it's built to last." Students work hands-on with composite and traditional materials, testing components to failure to understand structural integrity, and move through the full spectrum of propulsion systems — from internal combustion to model rocketry — using industry-standard design and simulation tools.

Year 4

FDOE Code

8601900

Advanced Technology Applications

Space Travel, Remote Systems, and the Capstone

Orbital mechanics, remote systems, team capstone project

Students open the year in the lab, not the textbook — mapping safety zones, examining why early aircraft failed, and building scale models to test the answers themselves. From there, the course moves through atmospheric physics and aerodynamics, propulsion and materials science, and unmanned aircraft systems, closing with a career-readiness unit where students build a professional portfolio and sit for mock industry interviews. Students leave Year 1 having earned three foundational, stackable industry certifications.

A Look Inside the Classroom

Every ArcPoint course is built around a driving project, not a lecture schedule. In Unit 1 of Aerospace Technologies I, students take on the role of Junior Systems Engineering Consultants hired to evaluate why history's earliest aircraft failed. They study historical flight attempts, build and test scale models of pre-1902 aircraft, and use flight simulation software to recreate 19th-century gliding conditions — turning the physics of lift and control into something they've tested with their own hands before they ever sit for an exam.

What's Included

  • Four full years of FDOE-aligned, credit-bearing curriculum — lesson plans, projects, rubrics, and assessment
  • A five-unit project-based learning structure for every course, each built around a real design challenge
  • A stacked sequence of industry certifications, from foundational safety credentials to the FAA Part 107 license
  • LMS-ready course delivery through ArcPoint Pathways, with full compatibility for districts using their own LMS
  • Learning lab and studio space design guidance, so facilities match the rigor of the curriculum
  • Industry and higher-education partnership support, including mentor programs and dual-enrollment pathways
  • Initial and ongoing teacher implementation support and professional learning

Industry Certifications Students Can Earn

Every certification in the pathway is chosen because it's stackable, funded, and meaningful outside the classroom — not just a line on a transcript.
